Advanced Chemical skin peel TCA

CHEMICAL SKIN PEEL
What is a TCA Chemical skin peel & how does it work?

TCA is derived from acetic acid, a derivative of vinegar and is available in different strengths from 10% to 70% depending on your skin type and the condition being treated.

TCA breaks up keratin, a protein found in the skin. This causes the keratin to stop functioning properly, lighten in colour and peel away from the skin over the course of several days. As the layers of damaged skin are removed, healthier smoother skin is revealed.
While a light peel only affects the topmost layer of the skin, the epidermis, a medium peel can penetrate the papillary dermis below to treat deeper skin damage.

What skin conditions does the TCA peel treat

• Acne
• Acne scarring
• Rosacea
• Fine lines & wrinkles
• Pigmentation
• Age spots
• Freckles
• Melasma

How many peels will I need

To treat a skin condition, we advise a course of 6 chemical peels. These can be spaced out 1 a week apart or once a fortnight.
If you do not have any specific skin concerns and just want brighter younger looking skin, 1 chemical peel will give complete skin rejuvenation.

What should I expect after a TCA peel

Your skin may peel or shed, the side effects are different on every person.
The most common after effects are

• Skin redness
• Peeling
• Dryness

Effects will usually subside within hours, many people are able to resume to their normal activities within the same or very next day.
